Welcome back for this week’s edition of Dollar Bin Digging where I spotlight a few books to keep an eye out for to snag on the cheap.
This week, I look at some more fun speculation related to the recent news, leaks, rumors, theories, and announcements. Topics ranging from the possible villains for Deadpool and Thunderbolts to a new Catwoman to Transformers and more. Just some more fun books to hunt for cheap based some rumors for upcoming MCU projects and comics.
Check out the video if you want to see some more books that I talked about this week that are not presented below:
As I always say, Comics should be fun; and I want to provide content that keeps this hobby the good time that it should be. Anyway, if you follow my IG, then you may have seen some of these pick-ups before as I typically share my pick-ups there when they happen. Check it out if you like seeing more books than I cover here. So, without further ado, let’s see what you should be looking out for in those bins…
So the February solicits tease a new Catwoman taking over for Selina Kyle for a stretch. Reminds me of when Elektra took over for Daredevil. But we’ll see how long Eiko lasts in the role.
For her 1st Appearance, I believe it was in this issue which is still probably tucked away with all the rest of the New 52 backstock that no one has cared about for years.
While the popular theory of the female villain for Deadpool 3 is Danger, I offer a few more suggestions in my video including this one. While we have seen Viper onscreen before, and this is not her first appearance. This is the issue where we find out she and Wolvie are/were married.
This is a subject ripe for jokes throughout the team up flick if they decide to go this route in the movie. But it’s still a cheap book and a decent read with solid art regardless of any longshot spec you want o try for.
Another popular villain spec for the Thunderbolts film is Sentry. they tease a Superman type threat so Sentry may make sense, but I say that is too loaded a character to try nd adapt right now with the Void and retcon history etc. Could be a hard sell to general audiences.
Now Hyperion is the easiest guess in my book and the most likely option. and I go over some comics you can find in my video, but I like this other longshot option: Gladiator.
Now his First is very expensive and not a dollar bin book so I chose to look for this issue where he becomes emperor of the Shi’ar. I like this character and explain my thought process in my vid, but to sum up, I want X-Men in Space and the Shi’ar are a big part of that.
Talked about this one before and it can still be picked out of cheap boxes. Lots of 1st appearances here, but Arcee could be a breakout character in this new Transformers movie.
She’s the 1st female Transformer I remember as a kid and I loved the classic look in the trailer. Beast wars is too tough a find for cheap, but this 1st is one you may still find out in those dollar boxes.
Best dollar bin find is Young Avengers #1! Prize #12 please

I stocked up on Newsstand copies of this book and have sold a few here and there raw for $25-$40 depending on the condition.
I sent my two best newsstand copies in for grading and they came back 9.8. There aren’t copies listed for less than $1000, although one sold recently for $600 or so. Was signed by Jon Shooter which I think actually hurt the value.
Thanks for that comprehensive list. Newsstands would be tougher to find in high grade given the nature of the places you would obtain that copy type, but they aren’t significantly “rarer” than the direct market at that time. But def harder in high grade.
